Twinkle Twinkle Lost Star [Poem]

Standing in a low lit room
wishing for a star tonight.
I am but a lonely lover
a plane out of flights.

Where has my star gone?
Where does its light reside?
Wandering the world alone
folded into a ball where I hide.

Twinkle Twinkle lost star
I miss the way you shine.

Back against a wall
legs shaking beneath me.
Blue in the face from suffocation
I forgot how to breathe.

An atmosphere so thick
that trees never grow.
Leaves fade to crumbs
transformations forever unknown.

Twinkle Twinkle lost star
I miss the way you shine.

Fickle dreams of lovers past
take hold of my head.
I try to remember just one
The one who caused the most dread.

The one brighter than flashes of neon
one with the heat of a thousand suns.
The one who has my heart
the one who did a love and run.

Twinkle Twinkle lost star
I miss the way you shine.
